Zaratite is a rare mineral forming secondary crusts on other nickel minerals. IMA views this is “doubtful” as a mineral species.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY: Zaratite is reported as an oxidation product found on millerite crystals collected from Estabrook Park in Milwaukee (sec. 5 T.7N. R.22E.) (Bagrowski, 1940).
