As a bedrock geologist at the WGNHS, I split my time between the office and the field. I am primarily focused on mapping the distribution of Paleozoic bedrock both at the land surface and below. I often use my knowledge of Wisconsin bedrock to collaborate on and support other projects, such as those related to groundwater and other natural resources of our State. For example, the Wisconsin Groundwater-Level Monitoring Network.

Geology has a profound impact on our lives – almost every aspect of our daily lives is influenced by geology!  As a geoscientist, I’m fascinated with Earth’s natural systems and processes, and how geoscientists are able to understand so much about our planet’s past, present and future by “reading the rocks.”
