Liandratite

Yellow to brown crystal tentatively identified as liandratite in a small cavity in granite, from the Koss Pit, Marathon County. Field of view is 0.8 mm left to right. (Dan Behnke specimen and image.)

Description:

Liandratite is a rare yellow to brown mineral found as metamict crusts in granite pegmatites.

MARATHON COUNTY: Liandratite has been tentatively identified from the pegmatites at the Koss Pit (SW sec. 2 T.27 N. R.5E.) SW of Rib Mountain (Buchholz, Falster and Simmons, 1999, 2000).
