I am a geologic data technician at the Survey, which means I compile data and finalize geophysical boring logs. I convert geologic and geophysical notes and records taken in the field into usable formats for the Survey’s data management system. Digitizing the data in a standardized format allows people to get a sense of what is happening below the surface at a particular point and to see how it relates across the area. I worked with hydrogeologist Pete Chase to create the WGNHS Data Viewer, an online database containing geophysical logs.
